During the course, participants learn about the different types of mobile work platforms, their construction, operating principles and the operator’s responsibilities. We place great emphasis on inspecting the equipment before starting work and assessing the surrounding conditions. During the practical sessions, trainees prepare the platform for work, operate the controls from the lower level and the work platform, carry out manoeuvres, and practise the correct procedures for finishing work and responding to hazardous situations.

You must be aged 18 or over and hold a valid identity document. Participants must be able to take part in practical sessions safely. When working at height, the occupational health requirements applicable to the role must be observed.

The UDT examination comprises a theoretical and a practical part. Candidates must demonstrate their knowledge of safe operation and their ability to prepare and operate the aerial work platform. Upon passing the examination, the UDT issues a certificate of competence valid for 5 years.

Aged 18 or over • proof of identity • willingness to operate the equipment safely
