The training combines theory with practice and has been designed for people who want to gain real skills needed when working on boom lifts.
The course covers learning to operate scissor and telescopic platforms, the rules for safe work at height and preparation for the final exam.
Theory part
During the training, the participant learns:
- the rules for safe work at height,
- the construction of scissor platforms,
- the construction of telescopic and articulated platforms,
- the procedures for technical inspection before starting work,
- methods of identifying hazards and assessing risk,
- the rules for stabilising and preparing the equipment for work,
- the organisation of a safe operator workplace,
- topics preparing you for the theory exam.
Practical part
During the practical classes, the participant learns:
- how to carry out a check of the device before starting work,
- how to operate a scissor platform,
- how to operate a telescopic and articulated platform,
- how to position the equipment correctly at the workplace,
- how to carry out work manoeuvres safely,
- how to improve the technique of manoeuvring the platform,
- how to work in line with the safety rules that apply at the workplace,
- how to prepare practically for the exam.
Exam
The training ends with:
- a theory exam,
- a practical exam.
The training lasts 2 days and includes:
- day 1 – theory and an introduction to the practical exercises
- day 2 – intensive practice and the final exam
- At least 18 years of age
- A valid ID card or passport
- Your own protective footwear
- Full physical and mental fitness

The course ends with a theory and a practical exam. Obtaining the certificate is conditional on passing both parts of the exam.
Initial requirements:
The participant must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid identity document: an ID card or passport.

The training is intended for beginners and operators with little experience who want to gain qualifications to operate scissor and telescopic platforms.
Training goal
The aim of the course is to prepare the participant for the independent and safe operation of boom lifts and to obtain a certificate after passing the final exam.
