The training covers theoretical preparation and practical exercises run under the instructor’s supervision. Participants learn the rules of safe work, operating the device and carrying out the basic manoeuvres used in the work of a forklift operator.

The course is run in small groups, which allows an individual approach to participants and more practice.


Day 1 – theory and the basics of practice

Theory part

On the first day, the participant learns:

  • the health and safety regulations and the rules of safe operator work,
  • the construction and types of forklifts,
  • the operator’s duties before starting and after finishing work,
  • the rules of safe driving and manoeuvring,
  • the hazards during warehouse work and ways of avoiding them.

Practical part – operating basics

During the practical classes, the participant learns:

  • how to prepare the truck for work,
  • the basic operation of the forklift,
  • how to carry out the first manoeuvres,
  • how to move safely along a set route,
  • the correct operator position and the rules of working with the device.

Day 2 – practice and exam

Practical part – improving skills

The second day of the training is devoted to developing practical skills, including:

  • working with a load,
  • lifting, transporting and setting down pallets,
  • manoeuvring in the warehouse space,
  • carrying out operator tasks in conditions close to daily work,
  • improving the smoothness and precision of driving.

Exam

The training ends with:

  • a theory exam,
  • a practical exam.

The training lasts 2 days and includes:

  • a theory part
  • practical classes
  • a final exam

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A valid identity document
  • Readiness for physical work
  • Comfortable work clothing and protective footwear recommended during the practical part

The training ends with a theory and a practical exam. Completing the course is conditional on passing both parts of the exam.

At least 18 years of age and a valid identity document: ID card or passport.
